Nc Dma Service Definitions

The official publication of definitions of mental health, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities can be found in the various clinical coverage guidelines published by the CN Medical Assistance Division. These definitions can be found on the DMA Clinical Coverage Policy webpage, which includes, but is not limited to, the following clinical coverage guidelines: Service definitions for publicly funded services (NC`s Division of Mental Health/Developmental Disorders/Addiction Services) are approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and meet all applicable CMS requirements. b) (3) Services: Partners may develop ideas for new services and submit them to the Health Benefits Division (DHB) of the NC for approval. These services are covered by “alternative” or “instead of” service definitions. These services are not provided in the traditional benefit plan and are different from services (b) (3). DHB may authorize these new services for reimbursement under Medicaid and, in some cases, with government funds. Partners also provides so-called (b)(3) services. Section 1915(b)(3) of the Medicaid waiver allows states to provide health services in addition to those of the approved NC Medicaid plan to participants participating in the 1915(b) exemption.
