Summer Associate Program: Each summer, the Cleveland Legal Services Society welcomes dedicated, public-minded law students who work in Legal Aid`s four offices in Northeast Ohio. This is an 11-week full-time volunteer program. Summer partners will support the work of Legal Aid lawyers. In general, summer partners will interview clients, write briefs, research relevant legal issues, participate in and attend court hearings and hearings, and much more. The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland (Legal Aid) is seeking admissions specialists who play an important role in ensuring that low-income individuals have access to quality legal advice. A person facing civil law problems related to health, housing, family, money and work is in most cases not entitled to a court-appointed lawyer. Legal aid is working to fill this gap and help as many people as possible. Legal aid is a program of civil law services focused on housing, consumer affairs, health, education, labour, income, immigration and family law. Internships: The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland had two rotating external programs: spring (January to April) and fall (August/September to November/December). Law students will volunteer at home and support the work of Legal Aid lawyers. They conduct legal research, review documents, write memos, help prepare lawsuits, and work with legal aid lawyers to assist clients. More information is available here. The Development and Communications Administrative Assistant assists the Development and Communications Department with routine and advanced administrative tasks, including planning and supporting meetings, smooth office operations, and maintaining paper and electronic records. The wizard creates correspondence, memos, and spreadsheets. The wizard performs data entry, creates and executes donor database reports/queries, tracks donations, and ensures that our 2000 individual donors are correctly recognized. The Assistant also supports Legal Aid`s large-scale special events and public relations. The Assistant reports to the Director of Development and Communications.
